Details

Cryopreservation of mouse sperm or embryos is offered to “store” lines of animals not currently being used in active experiments, to reduce cage costs and cage space, and to provide a secure stock in case of contamination or a natural disaster. Sperm cryopreservation provides a less expensive option than embryo freezing, and it produces many more chances at recovery, along with the ability to obtain multiple age-matched offspring from the recovery.

Two male mice are used for donors, sperm is isolated and mixed and then stored in straws under LN2. One thaw and IVF recovery is included in the fee. Storage of your samples free for the first year, and then charged at a very low annual fee in subsequent years.  The samples are divided and stored in two separate sites for security.
